Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole has congratulated seasoned Scholar-Diplomat, Administrator and International civil servant, Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari on his appointment as the Chief of Staff to the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.
The Speaker who commended the President for looking towards the North Central region for the choice of Chief of Staff described Ambassador Gambari as the round peg in a round hole, considering his rich background which he will bring to bear at a challenging period the global pandemic is ravaging our nation.
He said Prof. Gambari has what it takes to positively turn around the table being the closest Aide to the President judging from the multi sectoral capabilities and competence, Prof. Gambari is known for, both at national, regional and global levels.
Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole prays that God will grant him the much needed wisdom, knowledge, understanding and good health to discharge his new assignment dutifully.
He called on Nigerians, across sociopolitical divides to continue to support the APC led administration under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State in the fight against COVID-19 and prayed that the country will come out stronger.
He urged the people to continue to adhere strictly to the guidelines of WHO and NCDC of wearing facemasks, physical distancing, personal hygiene, washing of hands regularly to curtail the spread of the deadly pandemic, praying that God Kogi State will not have a taste of it because the virus will be sent back to where it came from.
