The lawmaker representing Yagba Federal constituency, Hon. Leke Abejide on Saturday delivered part of his campaign promises as he launch a N100m free interest loan for women in his constituency.
Abejide made the announcement in Isanlu, headquarters of the federal constituency at the end of a 2 -days workshop on Loan Disbursement to Women Cooperative society in Kogi West organized by his Foundation, Leke Abejide Foundation (LAF).

Abejide said the N100million he launched will be distributed as an interest -free revolving loan; starting with 20 Women Cooperative societies in the federal constituency.
He said his decision to launch the scheme which will be extended to other Four LGAs in Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu and Lokoja/KOGI Federal constituencies, was his own contribution in helping the populace gain financial stability.
“I am starting from Yagba Federal constituency so that the impact can be felt by my people quickly.
“This is one of the promises I made during my campaign tour, and I am so much interested in the economic stability of Yagbaland.
“Yagba people have been very supportive to me and I must reciprocate the gestures. This loan is interest free.”
Leke urged the handlers and head of each of the cooperative group not to impose too much administrative charges on their members who will become beneficiaries, said the cooperative heads must not charge beyond 5 percent on the loan they will disbursed to their members.
He also announced his decision to give another N100m as Interest – free loan to farmers in the constituency, “The first N100m is for women. The next phase will be for farmers. I know the scheme will help to drive away poverty in the land.
“Women are diligent, meticulous and calculative and this loan can help them to support the family.”
He also urged the participants drawn from Yagba West, Yagba East, MopaMuro, Kabba/Bunu and Ijumu LGAs to make use of the knowledge from the training.
