The Chairman of the Apex Amuro sociocultural group, Amuro Community Development Society, ACDS, Dr. Gilbert Obajemu has called on all sons and daughters of Amuro land to join hands in making the upcoming coronation of the Alamuro a huge success and remain committed to the peace and growth of the area.
Obajemu who made the call during a recent chance interaction with the media, added that the stage is set for a grand ceremony that will also point the way to “our cultural rejuvenation and traditional practices of our forefathers.”
He said the Alamuro of Amuro, His Royal Majesty, HRM, Oba Alfred Modupe Aiyedogbon has since received his staff of office and his coronation is scheduled for Saturday, 3 August, at Amuro Community Secondary Schpol, ACSS, in Effo, MopAmuro Local Government, Kogi State. He applauded the kingmakers and government for a seamless selection process.
“As you may know, Amuro is made up of 7 villages. Over the ages, the Alamuro stool, which is rotational, has remained one of the strong emblems of our togetherness. We thank God that inspired our fathers with the wisdom for a binding paramount ruler with an unambigious determination process.
“We want to also use the coronation ceremony to call attention of government, the private sector, and privileged individuals to the deplorable condition of the roads in our community, especially the main road to our ancestry. Yes, we are celebrating the Alamuro and our God-given peace, but we are also telling the world that we need functional electricity, potable water, and good roads.
Obajemu, an educationist, said the program will be a huge display of culture and a moment for “deep reflection on the state of education and our schools.”
He thanked those who have contributed in cash or kind to the success of the ceremony and urged others to join the team.
