The caretaker chairman (CTC) of Kabba/Bunu local government area of Kogi State, Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael, has been kidnapped by gunmen.
The Kogi state police command has confirmed.
The Kogi state police public relations officer, SP William Aya who confirmed it on Saturday morning, said Dare was kidnapped last night along Kabba/Okene road in Kabba.
“Yes,I got the information, the Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha has already deployed officers for search and rescue mission and we on top of the situation” he said.
Sources said that Dare was abducted alongside some of his aides on Kabba-Okene Road in the State while returning from Lokoja after an official engagement with the state governor.
The source said “Reports indicate that CTC Kabba/Bunu Chairman Barr Zacchaeus Dare Michael and one of his aides, Bank Andrew were kidnapped by unidentified gunmen on the Kabba-Okene expressway in Kabba.
The gunmen were said to have blocked the road after the State university in Kabba, shoot sporadically and abducted him and his aides.
“Authorities are seeking any credible information that may aid in their safe rescue. I urge everyone to pray for their immediate and safe release, asking for divine intervention and protection during this critical time.”
