This is to notify the general public that the Senator Sunday Karimi One Hundred Million Naira (₦100,000,000) Bursary Initiative for One Thousand (1,000) Kogi West Students in Public Tertiary Institutions has began the Disbursement of One Hundred Thousand Naira (₦100,000) each to Students who were successfully Screened and Verified by the Screening Sub-Committee and ratified by the Central Committee.
Remember that at the close of the portal for registration, there were Three Thousand, Four Hundred and Eighteen (3,418) Kogi West Students that applied for the Bursary Initiative Online. The Committee for the Bursary Initiative then proceeded to the next stage of the process which was the collation of Applicants by Local Governments and Tertiary Institutions and Verification of Studentship by the Local Government Sub-committee. After a careful and comprehensive process, the Sub-Committee through a thorough exercise ensured that the One Thousand (1,000) Kogi West Students across the Eighty Five (85) Wards with at least Ten (10) Beneficiaries from each Ward who were carefully selected are completely eligible.
However, the Senator Sunday Karimi Bursary award Committee want to categorically state that every of the Beneficiaries of this Bursary truly merits it. We also want to state emphatically that nobody should give any dime or give any gratification to anybody. We enjoin the beneficiaries not to be manipulated into succumbing into giving any fraction of the One Hundred Thousand Naira to anyone. If anyone make such demand, however highly placed, they should feel free to gather enough evidence and communicate it to the Coordinator of the program.
Senator Sunday Karimi is committed to building capacity for the youths and students of Kogi West in particular and Nigeria at large. This particular gesture is a fulfillment of one of his campaign promises for a more progressive and developed Kogi West Senatorial District through educational support and more.
