The Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon Kingsley Fanwo, has commended Governor Usman Ododo for his unwavering commitment towards infrastructural development across the state.
Hon Fanwo made the commendation during the annual celebration of Takete-Ide Day in Mopamuro LGA, Kogi State.
Speaking further, Hon Fanwo appealed to Governor Ododo for more government presence in his home town, particularly for urgent attention on the access roads to Takete Ide Amuro.
He described Takete-Ide Day as the celebration of the community’s rich cultural heritage, calling on the people of the community to remain united and continue to be honest, industrious, and transparent.
He implored the people of Takete Ide to remain united and promote their rich culture wherever they are.
“This community is known for honesty, industry, and transparency. We must promote these wherever we are. People who come from this place are not likely to have problems wherever they are because this community has groomed us to be able to survive wherever we find ourselves.
We express our strong belief in Gov Ododo’s administration to fix our community access roads. We are also confident in the government for more development infrastructure in our community. One of the things we are proud of is that the government is already fixing our secondary school. We are already doing a lot of work there to make it a beautiful one. The project would be completed in no distance. But we want more of government presence. I am part of the government but I will continue to campaign for that,” Hon Fanwo said, affirming Takete-Ide as the centre of APC in Yagba Federal Constituency, assuring of Government support at all times.
The Olude of Takete Ide, HRH Oba Philip Ebilakun expressed his gratitude to Almighty God for making the day a reality, appreciating the community for their maximum support, describing the celebration as a symbol of peace and unity.
The President of Takete Ide Progressive Union, (TIPU) Engr Dare Fiki appreciated His Excellency, Alhaji Usman Ododo, for appointing one of their illustrious, and
industrious sons as a Commissioner, commending him for the palliative on their roads, appealing for complete rehabilitation of the roads for better movement of commuters.
The TIPU President described Takete Ide Day as a celebration of love and togetherness, adding that they are committed to moving the community forward, stressing that the presentation of awards to four gallant youths who defended the community against an attack was a testimony that more awards await indigenes for exemplary service to the community.
