NSCDC SEEKS COLLABORATION TOWARDS EFFECTIVE DISASTER MANAGEMENT WITH KOSEMA

The Executive Secretary, State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Alh Mouktar Atimah and his management team received the HOD Crisis Disaster Management Department, Deputy Commandant Arowolo Michael, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Kogi State and his team today 13th January, 2025 in his office State secretariat complex.

In his opening remarks, the Deputy Commandant disclosed that the department as Crisis Disaster Management Unit has deemed it necessary to visit the Agency to collaborate with the Agency for an effective disaster risk management.

Furthermore, the Deputy Commandant Arowolo Michael, lauded the Agency for the feat achieved so far in emergency management. While seeking for synergy and cooperation with the Agency in possible areas, he expressed the readiness of Kogi State Command.

The Executive Secretary SEMA who made this known when he played host to the Head of Crisis Disaster Management Department, Deputy Commandant Arowolo Michael at the SEMA’s office in Lokoja, noted that enhanced collaboration between the two Agencies would play a major role in effective disaster management. He added that our goal is to establish the nexus in maximizing the use of available resources in addressing emergency that concerns lives and property.

Atimah revealed that the State Governor Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo has the political will to address emergency matters as his administration remain committed in advancing the “New Direction Project” structured and articulated by his immediate predecessor, Former Governor Yahaya Bello.

He thanked the Deputy Commandant and his team for the visit.
