GROUP CARPETS AUSTIN OKAI OVER ATTACK ON GOV. ODODO

The Kogi East Chapter of the GYB Voice Network 2023 has condemned the recent allegations made by Austin Okai against Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Speaking at a press conference in Lokoja, the Coordinator of the Group,.Comrade Hon. Ali Atabor described Austin Okai’s allegations as “wide, malicious, and unverifiable.” a cry of a drowning politician.

Comrade Atabor expressed his disappointment at the allegations, stating that they were not only false but also a deliberate attempt to distract the attention of the Chief Servant of Kogi State from the good work his administration is doing.

He stressed that Austin Okai has a history of blackmail and attention-seeking, and that his allegations were not worthy of consideration.

“We would have ordinarily ignored him, but we felt it was necessary to set the record straight,” he said.

The Kogi East leader also questioned Austin Okai’s credibility, pointing out that he had failed in his political endeavors, including his inability to deliver his ward in the last election.

“This abysmal performance shows his lack of acceptability and political relevance in his area,” Comrade Atabor stressed.

He commended Governor Ododo’s administration for its numerous development projects in Kogi East, including the construction of Primary Health Care Centres and rural road projects among other ongoing projects.

According to him, the projects have impacted positively on the lives of the people in the region and have demonstrated the governor’s commitment to the development of Kogi East.

He listed several projects, including the Ankpa PHC, PHC Awo Akpaila, and PHC Inye, as well as rural road projects such as the Ayingba to Agala Atte Road and the Elubi Etiaja to Ulaja Road. Atabor also highlighted the construction of staff quarters for the Primary Health Care Centres, which will ease the operations of health professionals and other personnel.

The coordinator also highlighted Governor Ododo’s achievements in other areas, including his attention to the welfare of workers, prompt payment of salaries, and implementation of the new national minimum wage.

He noted that the Governor’s administration has also focused on improving the educational sector, agriculture, health, and security.

The Kogi East leader called on the people of Kogi East to continue in their support to Governor Ododo’s administration and to reject those who seek to cause disaffection and acrimony

“We must work towards building strong partnerships that will attract more development projects to our senatorial district,” he said.

He expressed his confidence that the Governor will continue to deliver on his promises and improve the lives of the people in Kogi East.
