Kogi NPC Federal Commissioner Commiserate With Families, Govt & FUL Over Death Of Students.
The Federal Commissioner representing Kogi State at the National Population Commission, NPC, Abuja, Honourable Engr Yori Afolabi has condoled with the State Government and families of those involved in the fatal accident along Felele Lokoja highway.
Engr Afolabi in a statement in Lokoja also sympathises with the Vice Chancellor, management and students of the Federal University, Lokoja over the death students in the accident.
He described the accident as.. “one too many which claimed the lives of supposed future leaders of the country” .
The Federal Commissioner called on relevant authorities to put measures in place to prevent future recurrence as well as the need for vigilance and adherence to road safety rules and regulations by truck drivers using the route.
He prayed for the reposed of the dead and fortitude for the families to bear the irreparable loss.
Several Casualties as trailer rams into shuttle bus waiting to convey FUL students, six persons feared dead
A trailer that failed break along Felele Lokoja road, has rammed into shuttle busses awaiting to convey Students of Federal University Lokoja.
Unconfirmed report says six persons are feared dead, though unconfirmed by the FRSC and the Police.
TAhe Trailer said to be carrying building construction rafters at the honey gold junction, ran into tricycles and passer-by.
The casualty figure is still yet to be ascertained as the gridlock along the highway has made difficult for vehicular and other form of movement following the pandemonium.
