Concerned Youth of Yagba West Call for Action from Hon. Idowu Ibikunle
The Concerned Youth of Yagba West Constituency issue this urgent call to Hon. Idowu Ibikunle, Minority Leader of the Kogi State House of Assembly and representative of Yagba West, to rise to the demands of his office and deliver meaningful representation to our people.
As Hon. Ibikunle approaches two years in office by May 2025, we express profound disappointment in his performance. The record shows only one motion to his name, no sponsored bills, and a notable absence from critical plenary sessions, including the presentation of the 2025 Budget by His Excellency, Alhaji Usman Ododo. This falls far short of the intellectual rigor and commitment expected of a lawmaker entrusted with advancing the interests of Yagba West.
We remind Hon. Ibikunle that lawmaking is a serious responsibility, not a platform for token gestures or superficial empowerment schemes. The people of Yagba West deserve more than motorcycle tyre distributions and palm wine handouts. They demand robust legislation, active participation in state governance, and tangible dividends of democracy that uplift lives and communities.
This statement serves as a clarion call for Hon. Ibikunle to awaken from his lukewarm approach and bench-warming tendencies. The era of tokenism is over.
