Graded traditional rulers in Kabba District of the Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area have endorsed the outcome of the election of a new national executive committee of the Kabba Development Union held at the union’s national secretariat in Kabba on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
A communique issued at the end of the well attended meeting said the royal fathers were firm in their belief that the outcome of the congress, at which the new team emerged, was in agreement with the wishes of the majority of the people of Oweland.
The meeting chaired by His Royal Majesty, the Obaro of Kabba, Oba (Dr) Solomon Dele Owoniyi, applauded the emergence of the new executive committee led by Barrister Kabiru Fadile as the President-General.
The new team came on board following the expiration of the eight year tenure of the former committee.
Also in attendance at the meeting were the new Obadofin of Oweland, His Royal Highness, Oba Segun Joseph Areh and the Obajemu of Oweland, His Royal Highness, Oba Michael Ibinaye.
Signed by the secretary of the Kabba/Binu Traditional Council, Mr. Ojo Peter Raphael, the communique appealed to all to lend their support to the new KDU executive committee so that peace may reign in Oweland.
Noting that it was only in an atmosphere of peace and unity that Oweland could enjoy accelerated development, the communique appealed to the people to join hands with the new KDU team as it works with the traditional institution to foster development in the land.
It also implored the Chairman of the Local Government, Barrister Dare Michael Zacchaeus to work with the traditional council towards enhancing further development in the area.
The traditional rulers also congratulated the new KDU President-General, Barr. Kabiru Fadile and the members of the executive committee and urged them to continue to work closely with the critical stakeholders in the effort to move the community forward.
Apart from the Obaro, Obadofin and the Obajemu, the three group heads of Katu, Kabba and Odolu were in attendance as well as the Elesho with other graded chiefs while those who could not attend due to old age were represented at the meeting.
