Igbagun Community coronates 9 new traditional chieftains
Igbagun Community Witnesses Grand Coronation of New High Chiefs.
In a grand display of traditional pomp and splendor, the Igbagun Community has marked a significant milestone with the coronation of new High Chiefs in the traditional council. The ceremony, held at the 5th palace of HRH Oba Samuel Shola Adebola Adekanmi in Igbagun, Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, was a colorful and peaceful affair that drew a large and distinguished crowd from within and outside Kogi State.
The grand coronation ceremony was performed by the Royal Highness Oba Samuel Shola Adebola Adekanmi, assisted by six of his esteemed kingmakers. The proceedings were also graced by the presence of the eminent Royal Highness Oba Segun Aliu, the Oba of Oranre Kingdom, who lent his watchful eyes to the occasion.
The coronation ceremony commenced at about 10 o’clock, with the Royal Highness putting red caps and beads on the newly appointed High Chiefs. This symbolic act was carried out with great solemnity and dignity, assisted by existing High Chiefs in the council. Following the coronation, the new High Chiefs were sworn in, marking the beginning of their tenure in the traditional council.

– High Chief Jimoh Abubakar Giwa – The Obajaiye of Igbagun Kingdom
– High Chief Bashiru Shuaib – The Obadokan of Igbagun Kingdom
– High Chief Bakare Isah – The Obahinkin of Igbagun Kingdom
– High Chief Ganiyyu Mamud – The Obadero of Igbagun Kingdom
– High Chief Yinusa Saliu – The Obaro of Igbagun Kingdom
– High Chief Alhaji Fadumila Adeniran – The Obailha of Igbagun Kingdom
In his keynote address, HRH Oba Samuel Shola Adebola Adekanmi charged the new High Chiefs to work assiduously towards the societal development of Igbagun Community. He described the newly coronated High Chiefs as God-fearing individuals endowed with substance, courage, and character. The monarch also pledged to justify the confidence reposed on him by the Igbagun Community, promising rapid societal development under his leadership and with the support of Almighty God, his High Chiefs on council, stakeholders, and the entire Igbagun Kingdom.
The grand coronation ceremony was followed by joyous celebrations at the individual homes of the newly coronated High Chiefs, with family, friends, and well-wishers in attendance to congratulate them on their new roles. The occasion marked a new chapter in the history of Igbagun Community, with the traditional council poised to drive development and progress in the kingdom.
