Kogi State Government through the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MOEST), has once again announced the shift in the date for the conduct of Internal Examinations as earlier released in the state.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry (MOEST), Pastor Emmanuel Idenyi, made this disclosure in a statement on Thursday shortly after the management meeting of the ministry held in his office in Lokoja.
It would be recalled that the ministry had earlier released the time table for its Internal Examinations: Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE), Common Entrance Examinations(CEE), Basic Six/ First School Leaving Certificate Examinations respectively.
According to Idenyi, the ministry took this position as a result of appeals from flood-prone local government areas in the state, saying it would be difficult to organize their pupils for the exams at this period.
He said that the new date and revised timetable for the conduct of all internal examinations in the state would be released by the ministry as soon as the flood disasters that have ravaged the state receded.
Idenyi expressed the regret of the ministry over the unforeseen development, assuring all stakeholders that the Ministry will come out with a date that would be convenient and acceptable to all.
