Boycott Council poll, Bello Will Manipulate Dec 12 LG Polls With Impunity – Wada Counsel PDP
The governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last election, Engr Musa Wada has called on the party to review and consider the decision of the Kano state chapter to withdraw from the upcoming council polls in the North Western state.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, Wada said Governor Yahaya Bello will not allow free and fair election during the December 12 council polls in Kogi state.
He counseled PDP to ‘look before leaping’ as its participation in the December 12 local government elections may end up as a nightmare.
He advised the party to consider the implications of going into the forthcoming local government election under Yahaya Bello leadership, knowing too well that the Governor will manipulate the exercise.
He insisted that the Governor cannot conduct any free end fair election because himself was a product of manipulation and election malpractices.
Wada commended PDP’s decision to participate in the electoral processes but warned that the decision may end giving legitimacy to the electoral fraud that the ruling party will reinforce on the people. “The worst governorship election in our state was witnessed in November last year.
“We must not legalize the worst local government election in our state as all apparatuses of government are already playing to the gallery ahead of December 12, 2020.
“APC knows it cannot win a single seat in the twenty one local government councils if the elections are free and fair. Who will vote for them? The hungry man or deprived civil servants?”End.
