Former House of Representative member, Sunday Karimi has called on the Minister of work, Babatunde Fasola, to call to order the Contractors handling the repairs of Gwagalada- Lokoja road.
Karimi who spoke on Monday in Lokoja yesterday said commutters traveling on that road has been facing hardship in the last three months, “Where a journey that normally takes 2 hours sometimes last for 14 hours because of negligence on the part of the Contractors and lack of effective supervision on the part of the ministry.
“Some of the repairs causing traffic jams should have been handled swiftly and mostly at night, but they are lazily pretending to be working, but stagnant for lack of effective planning; thereby causing untold hardship for the people plying the road.
“Some even lost their life due to unnecessary accidents.
“During this festive period, the Minister need to move swiftly to avoid the ugly experiences of the last few months. The major problems are on the Gwagalada and Lokoja end, where reconstruction work has been ongoing for months, without good progress.
