As the local Government election draws close, the need for political ground should be set for different political parties to equal roles in the forth coming Chairmanship/Councilorship election across the State. It is on this note the Kogi State independent electoral commission Hon. Mamman Nda Eri arrived five (5) local Government that made up the West namely Kabba – Bunu, Ijumu, Mopamoro, Yagba West and Yagba East to sensitize the people in preparedness for the Dec. 12, 2020 Local Government polls.

Hon. Mamman who led the commission said the sensitization is a collective responsibility for an achievable results, he implored royal fathers of and Directors of various Local Government respectively to collaborate with the commission to enable a hitch free exercise at the polls. Hon Mamman urged every Local Government information officers to deceminate the sensitization message in their respective dialect for proper flow of information in the community.

Responding respectively to KSIEC chairman’s message, the royal fathers of the Local Government Areas describe the people of What st as a peaceful, loving sorbodinates who are round the clock to ensure rancour free electoral process. The Obaro of Kabba who is chairman Okunland tradional council, HRM Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi used the medium to appeal to political party aspirants to give peace a chance on the districts as election he said not to be a “Do or Die” affair. Other royal fathers visited includes : the Olujumu of Ijumu land Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni (JP), the Elulu of Mopa, Oba Julius Joledo, the agbane of Isanlu kingdom HRM Oba M. B Etombi and lastly his HRH Elegbe of Egbe Oba Ayodele Irukera.

However the Directors who plays vital roles in the affairs of the local Government Areas assured the commission that the authorities of the Local Government Areas will cooperate maximally in all ramifications with the electoral umpires towards the smooth conduct of the forthcoming election in their various domains. The D. L. Gs includes, Hon. Emmanuel Tunji, Kabba-Bunu, Hon. Joseph O. Asaju, Ijumu, Hon. Elder Eseyin Michael O., Mopamoro, Engr. David Aina Yagba East, Hon. Elder Rueben Sunday Osagbemi Yagba west.

The commission secretary Hon. Enesi John Ozovehe, thanked the royal fathers and Directors of Local Government Areas for their warm and kind reception. He further dwell more on the need for a successful exercise.
