On behalf of the Academic Board and Management of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, I am highly delighted to felicitate with the Muslim Ummah in the Polytechnic, the State and the nation, for the grace to join the rest of the world in commemorating this year’s Eid-el Adha.
My warmest felicitations also goes to His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza, the Executive Governor of the State, and all elected and appointed government officials for the privilege granted by Allah for us to be part of the auspicious moment.
While I congratulate all and sundry for the successful celebration, it is my hope and desire that the symbolic impact of the commemoration of the sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim is not lost on us in all our private and public engagements.
As the Holy Quran Chapter 22: 3 makes it clear to us that it is our piety, and not the meat or blood of the sacrfice, that reaches Allah, may we be guided by the import of the doctrine to exhibit selflessness, piety, love for one another and fear of Allah in all our conduct.
May I also enjoin the Ummah to continue to imbibe at all times, the virtues embedded in the sacrifice and abstain from greed, destructive sentiment, socio-cultural extremism and pull-him-down syndrome that permeate our individual and collective thinkings.
May we seize the opportunity of the moment to preach and sustain the equality of all humanity; whether rich or poor, muslims and non-muslims, young or old.
May we continue to devote more time to pray for the State and the nation, and do more of self-examination for the deeper entrenchment of our much cherished family values and community advancement for societal renewal.
Once again, accept the warmest felicitations of the Academic Board and Management of Kogi State Polytechnic and kind personal wishes as you celebrate this year’s Eid-el Adha. May Allah (SWT) accept your IBADA (Ameen).
