The governorship aspirant on the Platform of the People Democratic Party, PDP, in the November 2019 Kogi Guber election, Abubakar Ibrahim, has been ousted from the party for supposed anti party activities.
Ibrahim, a son of former Governor Ibrahim Idris of Kogi State, was seen as blameworthy of his activities by the Disciplinary Committee set up by his home PDP, Icheke Ward in Omala Local Government Area to explore charges against him.
The notification of his removal which was sequel to allegations of anti party allegations was premised on section 10 and segment 57 of the PDP Constitution (as revised) marked by the Ward Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Icheke, Sunday Idakwoji which was made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Wednesday read thus:
“The Disciplinary Committee set up by the PDP, Icheke Ward to examine claims against you, (Abubakar Ibrahim) has presented its report and seen you as blameworthy of the offenses.
” After due thought of the report and your dull refusal to show up before the disciplinary advisory group to protect yourself of the claims leveled against you, we the individuals from Icheke Ward Executive Council of PDP at a gathering on the fifteenth day of April, 2020 have consistently made plans to oust you from our gathering.
“We are by this notification now, along these lines, passing on to you the said party goals that you have been removed from PDP by Icheke Ward Executive”
The appeal against Abubakar Ibrahim, which was examined and seen him as blameworthy incorporate; testing the result of the PDP governorship primaries which proclaimed Musa Wada as its up-and-comer in Court without falling back on the party as required by the party constitution.
“This activity of his as indicated by the request is a repudiation of area 58(1) (L) of the PDP constitution (as changed in 2017). Also, Abubakar Ibrahim was affirmed to have never taken an interest in the gathering’s gatherings or some other authority exercises of the gathering either at ward or neighborhood government level which repudiates area 58(I) (e) of the constitution of the gathering (as revised, 2017).
“Thirdly, the records of the gathering shows that Abubakar Ibrahim is never a money related individual from the gathering at Icheke Ward level which contradicts area 58(I) (f) of the constitution.”
It will be recalled that the state executive council of the party forthnight ago asked the ward executive to exercise their rights by removing the Guber aspirant from the party.
The state excos also called on the national body to melt the same treatment on the father, former governor Ibrahim Idris who is a national member of the board of trustees.
With the latest development on the son, it is left to be seen how the fate of the father will play out in couples of days.
