Gov. Bello replaces sacked Kogi Varsity VC, Poly Rector

LOKOJA – Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State on Tuesday, approved the appointment of Professor Marietu Ohunene Tenuche as the acting Vice Chancellor, Prince Abubakar Audu Unversity, Anyigba.

The governor likewise approved the appointment of Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman as the Acting Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.

The former Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Muhammed Abdulkadir, and the Rector of the state polytechnic, Prof. Muhammed Atureta were this year February suspended by the governor for not complying with the Treasurer Single Account, TSA, system of the state in their financial dealings.

Secretary to the State Government, Dr.(Mrs) Folashade Ayoade, who confirmed their appointment in a statement on Tuesday said both appointments takes immediate effect.

According to the statement, “Professor Tenuche, two-time Deputy Vice Chancellor of the institution, replaces Professor Mohammed S. Abdulkadir, who has been asked to proceed on terminal leave.

“Dr. Usman on the other hand, replaces Professor M.S Atureta, whom has been relieved of his appointment.”

The statement wished the out-going appointees “the best in their future endeavour” and stressed that all handing and taking over “should be completed immediately”.
