The people of Ajaokuta, in Ajaokuta council area of Kogi State has eulogised the member representing the Constituency at the House of Representatives for his untiring efforts at ensuring the rescucitation of the Ajaokuta ste company.
This is coming as the lawmaker for the Ajaokuta feder constituency, Hon. Idirissu Lawal on his own said he will not rest on his oars until the Ajaokuta Steel Company is revitalized to take over the country’s industrial activities.
The community and the lawmaker spoke on Monday in Ajoakuta when the House of Representative committee on Steel paid a visit to the steel plant.
Spokesperson of the community, Mallam Zakari Adamu who spoke on behalf of the youths of Ajaokuta applauded Hon. Lawal, said the member had in the eight national Assembly brought the then Speaker, Yakubu Dogara and some principal officers of the National Assembly to the steel plant.
He said the reports of the 8th Assembly visit to President Muhammadu Buhari has yielded positive results, in view of the invested interest and progress by the FG to the revamping of the Ajaokuta steel company.
They thanked the Ajaokuta Federal lawmaker for his follow up to ensure the moribund steel plant is revitalized.
Chairman, of the House committee on Steel, Hon. Abdullahi Ali commended the host community Ajaokuta for their patient, cooperation and understanding for the steel plant to come back to life.
He assured that as soon as the necessary things are put in place a lot of job opportunities will be there for the teaming youths.
Some other Honourable Members in the delegation were Olushola Fatoba, Henry Nwoba, Lawal Shettima Ali, Victor Dan Zaria, Francies Ejirogene , Mohammed Abdulmumin and Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson, with the Sole Administrator of the Steel, Engineer Akaaba as their host.
