I Won’t Disappoint – Prince Fiki Assures As He Receives Award, Investiture From YAN

The President, Takete Idea Progressive Union, TIPU, Prince Richard Dare Fiki,  has called on parents, the society and government to prioritize the education, welfare and well-being of their wards towards having a better society.
Prince Fiki stated this on Thursday at the NUJ press at the occasion of his investiture and conferment of Award by the Youth Alliance of Nigeria, YAN.
Fiki in his address stated rhat, “I feel highly priviledged to have been considered for an honour and award ceremony by no less a body than the highly respected Youth Assembly of Nigeria, YAN.
“That youths are the leaders of Tomorrow’s world is a well accepted fact. But we all have a burden to make tomorrow possible through our actions and inactions today.
“For, indeed how do we go to sleep about tomorrow when we have not laid the right foundations for our children and young persons today?
“Put differently what type of future do we seek to bequeath to our future leaders if we do not pay attention to their trainings today?
“I am a strong follower and advocate in the scriptural injunction to “train up a child in the way he shall follow and when he is old, he shall not depart from it…
“Gentlemen, we all have a duty today to invest our all in the lives of our children for a glorious and brighter tomorrow.
“That explains why for about half a decade now, I have been involved in facilitating training and empowerment programs for our youths through the Industrial Training Fund, ITF and similar agencies.
“Through our contacts in such agencies, the ITF has taken hundreds of beneficiaries away from the streets and liberated their lives from poverty and crime.
“Governments alone can not do it. The task requires input from all of us. I therefore wish to call on privileged individuals, political office holders and  private sector players to pay more than a passing glance to the opportunities available for the young.
“It is only after playing our part that we can go to sleep assured that the youths are able to provide the requisite leadership for the future.
“I am aware this is not a speech making day. I therefore thank every one who has taken out time and resources to make this ceremony a success.
“Time will not allow me to mention everyone by name. Kindly permit me however, to recognise members of Takete Ide community, friends, relations and associates for the tremendous love they have shown me on this occasion.
“I thank the organisers of this program for recognising our modest efforts at making life more meaningful for our people.
“I never knew I was being watched all along. This award is like pouring fuel on fire. I wish to assure that I will not relent in the little services being rewarded today. The award will certainly spur me to do more”.End.
