Senator Smart Adeyemi representing Kogi West SENATORIAL district has disowned online publications and physical display of posters indicating his interest to vie for the Governorship position of Kogi state in 2023.

The senator in a statement he personally signed on Tuesday also disavowed the insinuation in some quarters that he has ANNOINTED some persons for the position of chairman in the forthcoming Kogi council poll.

Senator Adeyemi in the statement who called on his supporters to stop attacking anybody opposed to his political positions, also enjoined his political opponents to stop maligning his names.

Details of the statement.

My attention has been drawn to online publication and physical display of posters/publications purporting to insinuate that l, Senator Smart Adeyemi have any intentions to run for the 2023 Governorship Elections in Kogi State by some known and unknown individuals.
May I reiterate that I came into office as a third term Senator by the Grace of the Almighty God. As at the time I joined the APC, it was not in my calculation to return to the chambers as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria haven served two terms successfully. However, it pleased God through the party, electorates support, and the leadership of Our Governor, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello, that I emerged the people’s candidate with the sole mandate of giving the people of Kogi West quality and effective representation in the Red Chamber. A duty I have passionately strived to execute with a view to salvaging and restoring the good image of our people both locally and internationally.
The ongoing publications of my person making rounds are solely intended for the purposes of collusion, distraction, detraction and confusion. I consider it unkind, uncivilized, un-lslamic, umbilical, apolitical and inhuman to commence circulations towards 2023.
I ask the individuals behind these publications to immediately i from such extreme and intolerable anti party beha or a misdemeanors. May I be allowed to focus on the job have bee called to do as there is no time for negative and inciting politickin but time to work assiduously to meet the aspirations an expectations of my beloved constituents. I have absolutely no nee for the cheap and unsolicited advertisement and propaganda.
Also, it is too early for any well-meaning citizen to begin imaginary projections for 2023. Consequently, anyone who is unilaterally engaging in such an act cannot be a friend of the state and invariably will be considered an enemy. The Governor and the party as a whole are better placed at the relevant time to determine the way forward for Kogi State come 2023 and it is our collective responsibility to continue to give them our unwavering support.
Furthermore, as our great State prepares for the Local Government Elections, I put it on record that I have not and will not adopt any candidate. We all belong to one party, under one Leadership; therefore, I will embrace whoever emerges as candidate, either for Chairman or Councilor across Kogi West, as the party leadership will determine.
Let me stress, that I was not personally present at the material time the Kogi state A.P.C party structures were put in place under Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, yet my interest and that of my people have always been protected. Therefore, I am confident that the leadership of the party under Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello is strong and sufficiently formidable to produce, at the appropriate time, people who are qualified, experienced, dedicated, honest, strong and aligned with the excellent work already being done by the Governor.
I will not entertain any further acts of mischief, political sabotage or outright anti-party conducts. This is an appeal to all coordinators, my genuine supporters and well-wishers of DSSA to hereby strongly adhere to my position herein stated unequivocally. I appreciate your support and prayers over the years. We lost a few battles, but finally won the war. Now that the case has been determined by the Court of Appeal, it is time that we make a difference in bettering our lot as a people. Let the praise singing and adulation be brought to an abrupt halt. I ask you all to particularly desist from any form shuttle attacks on my perceived political enemies. We remain one as people of Kogi state. We will only make our mark by delivering qualitative representation and not by opponents; I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in this. Do not also attempt to portray me as a saint by the lingering praise singing and almost an over exaggerated commendation of my personal qualities. I am not perfect. No one is perfect. We are to be seen and not heard. Therefore what I need now are your prayers to execute the mandate I have been charged with at the Red Chambers. And to achieve this, all hands must be on deck. We must be of one mind. This is of utmost importance. Every minute counts, we do not have the luxury of time, or for any distractions.
I send strong caution to those who consider themselves political opponents to equally and immediately desist from any form of mischief and misrepresentation of my person. I must be left out of their fictional delusions of grandeur.
Let me state emphatically and without fear of contradiction that my support for Governor yahaya Adoza Bello is unconditional and nonnegotiable. I therefore implore you all to rally-round him, extend your support and vehemently eschew any acts of distraction, mischief, collusion and what I consider sabotage. I am a man of faith. I am a covenant Child of God. My future in all ramifications is in the hands of the Almighty God, through his human “Angels”.
Once again, I thank you all for your support and prayers.
