Baring any last minute change, Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi State would immidiately after swearing in the Members of the State Independent Electoral Commission, make public the list of liason officers to supervise the twenty one Local Government Areas of the state.
The Liason officers would be expected to work with the Directors of Local Government to ensure a hitch free local government Council election.
Meanwhile, APC stakeholders and generallity of the people across the state have commended the wisdom and visionary leadership of HE Alhaji Yahaya Bello for the decision to appoint the liasion officers.
However, mixed reactions has continued to trail the appointment of the 21 liaison officers due to fear and apprehension in several quarters that the Liason officers would transmutes into the candidates of the APC for their various LGAs, while in some quarters it has been celebration galore.
Generally, the people of Kogi State have continue to applaud the decision of Governor Yahaya Bello not to interfere in the emergence of the liaison officers by allowing stakeholders in various local government determined who represent them.
By this singular action, the whole state not minding party affiliations are in joyous mood anxiously waiting for the official released of the Liaison officers List.
The compiled list has been greeted with Kudos by people of the state especially those from Kogi West senatorial district.
In Kogi West for instance, the people of Yagba West and Kabba Bunnu local government
are already jubilating and celebrating the proposed appointments of Mr.Tade Oshaloto and Mr. Ariyo Kemuna Adebayo of Yagba West and Kabba Bunnu respectively.
The people of Yagba West described the appointment of Tade Oshaloto as a round peg in a round hole, stressing that Tade has capacity to handle the LGA with good result and that he enjoys the support of members of All Progressive Congress and good people of Yagba West as a whole.
The Central Senatorial District is likely to see a complete new list of liason officers from the former Administrators as the stakeholders, particularly those of Adavi, Okehi, Okene and Ajaokuta by virtue of the rotation arrangement existing in the area may have their way, making the former to have completely lost out in the new arrangement.
The Administrator of Ogori, Goke Oparison as at press time is still enjoying some vintage advantages barring last minute change and the less opposition and petition from the stakeholders, coupled with the fact that he is favoured by rotation.
