KOGI COUNCIL POLL: ONOJA BACKS ADMINISTRATORS TO RETAIN SEATS

The chairmanship ambitions of council administrators especially those from the Kogi West axis has received boost following a silent endorsement by the state deputy governor, David Onoja.

Close aides to the administrators are now going round town smiling and speaking of the silent endorsement saying, their bosses will return whenever election is conducted.

According to an aide, who is related to one of the administrators from Okunland said, aside the endorsement, the deputy governor has also promised to bankroll their election if they remained loyal to him.

The source said the deputy governor who held a meeting with the ALGON Chairman and Secretary (Ijumu and Olamaboro administrators) in Dafeeyo Hotel, Lokoja told them that he was instrumental to their appointments in the first instance.

Aside that, Onoja told them that they have been texted and trusted especially in the last year general election, and he will preferred them to any new face.

The source also hinted that the administrators from the zone in exception of Kabba and Yagba East again met with the Deputy Governor in Abuja to cement the arrangement and agreement.

He said the administrator for Yagba West Local government who have before spoken of not contesting since the rotation arrangement did not favour him, has in earnest started placing his posters following the word of assurance from the deputy governor.

Also, one of the leading aspirant for the council election in Kabba/Bunu, Aare Ariyo who was taunted as favourite for the poll has since cooled his aspiration following the backing to the administration from his area by the deputy governor.

The deputy governor was said to have informed them to ignore the rift rumour between him and the governor, said he still carry the mandate of the governor on political issues.

Close aides to the administrators have since hit town singing song of praise over the endorsement of their bosses for the council poll.
