Political Office Holders in Kogi on Wednesday donated N1 million naira to the Kogi COVID-19 Account to help the state fight the Coronavirus pandemic.
Secretary to the Kogi Government, Mrs Ayoade Folashade said the donation is a demonstration of the State Government’s commitment to defend the people against the deadly virus.
She said the state government will not joke with the welfare and wellbeing of the people stressing that the state government will do all within its power to safe guard its people.
She reiterated the needs for the people to observes and abide by the government policies, of staying at home, keeping regular and hygienic behaviours.
Mrs. Fashade said though the stay at home directive may sound difficult to observe but said it was taken in the best interest of the people.
She emphasized that the Coronavirus is a serious challenge against the whole world, that it is no issue that should be taken political. .
“We understand the hardship the sit-at-home directive will inflict on the people; but it is a necessary measure to arrest the spread of the virus.”
