Chief Coach, Kogi United football club has revealed that the target of the club this season is to gain promotion to the nation’s top footbal league,the NPFL.
Coach Tunde Abdulrahaman stated this on Wednesday after the club’s normal routine training at the Lokoja confluence stadium.
The coach who has managed a handful of clubs in the Nigerian football circle said with the right support, promotion to the elite league is achievable.
“I have created records with many clubs in Nigeria, promoting about six of these clubs from the second tier league to the NPFL while also taking two to the FA cup finals in the past and so with proper support, adequate funding, determination, resilience and the right frame of mind on the part of my players, we will pick one of the promotion ticket to the elite league.”
Abdulrahaman said the club is blessed with experienced crop of players who are rearing to go and give their best for the task at hand which is playing in the Nigeria professional football league and a hard-working management team ably led by an ex-international and a seasoned football administrator, Mallam Abdul Sule working assiduously to improve the fortune of the team.
He further promised football lover in the confluence state that as the Nigeria National League kicks off, they will see a rejuvenated and result oriented Kogi United.
Kogi United football club will open their 2020/2021 Nigeria National League account away to DMD fc of Maiduguri next week.
