Lagosians lament hike in BRT fares, none compliance to NCDC directives on Covid-19

Residents of Lagos have cried out, sending an SOS message to the Lagos State government to review it’s recent hike in fares of the BRT a government owned transport system that is expected to be for the benefit of the masses.

It was observed that rather than cushioning the pains of the lock down on the people by possibly reducing fares especially now that the federal government has reduced PMS prices, the transport fares have been jacked up.

According to one of the passangers, lamenting this morning said “Sad part of it is that the bus is now packing full in this era of pandemic while her cases is rising astronomically daily”

“Before now, Lagos Island was normally #300 but now #500” the passenger laments.

He further explained that the MD/CEO just stopped the bus around Idera bus stop on Ikorodu road to check. May be if the bus is full or people seating on the floor. He definitely did not complain about the full load which means it is done with the knowledge of the management.

Passengers are using this medium to call the attention of the Lagos State government to this ugly situation and come to the rescue.
