… DONATES N1.5M TO ANIKU YOUTH GROUP IN OKENE.
Senator Smart Adeyemi of Kogi West was penultimate Tuesday given a roaring reception at Okene by the Aniku Youth Vanguard.
Speaking at the ceremony, Senator Smart Adeyemi, reiterated the longstanding mutual love and unity between the Okun and Ebira tribe, and the need to sustain it.
Alhaji Abdulkareem Obaito, a leader of ebira progressive Association (EPA), in his speech described Senator Smart as a detribalized politician whose passion for the ordinary man is remarkable. Obaito recalled the previous scholarship and empowerment programs by the Senator where people outside Kogi West also benefited from. He further recalled that his daughter was also a beneficiary of one of those many scholarship schemes. He therefore encouraged the Senator to continue in the spirit of an all inclusive agenda for Kogi people.
The group said they were certain that with Senator Adeyemi’s return to the senate, they were optimistic of being recipients of the dividends of democracy. While stating the confidence reposed in the Senator, they assured him of their unwavering support.
The Senator in his response recalled that one of the programs he sponsored while in the 6th and 7th Senate, which saw over 400 beneficiaries to Jerusalem and over 430 to Mecca Pilgrimages was not restricted to only the people of Kogi West.
In his closing remarks, the Senator expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Alhaji Obaito, the Aniku Youth Vanguard and the entire Anebira for their immeasurable demonstration of love, assuring them that he will continue to advance the cause of all Kogites.
He thanked the group for their unwavering support and encouragement for him, under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello as he donated the sum of N1 Million naira to the Aniku Youth Vanguard, and another N500,000 thousand naira to the Women Group as a show of his support.
