Youth Group Lauds Fanwo, Akinlade Others Efforts’ Towards Youths, Community Dev. In Mopamuro


Youths in Mopamuro council area of Kogi State under the auspices of Voice of Mopamuro Youths (VOMY) has single out some personalities in the area for their contribution towards the youths and overall development of the area.
Amongst those distinguished for accolades is the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo; son of former acting governor of the state, Mr. Folorunsho Olafemi; and Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade, who is the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Mines and Steel amongst others.
While Dr. Akinlade was praised for leading the Establishment of the Federal government North Central Gold Cluster in Mopamuro, Fanwo was hailed for his philanthropic natures and supportive roles to students and youths of the council area in the past five years.
This was contained in a statement on Thursday by the President of the group, Olushola Abel which reads apart, “Ma, we can’t state holistically in this piece, the benefit this lofty project will bring to Mopamuro, the host community, but we understand the fact that it will over time make Mopamuro the economy hub of not only Okun Land, but of the entire Kogi State and North Central Nigeria by all the direct and indirect activities the Gold Cluster Factory will bear, if it is appropriately managed.
“We are also thankful for the empowerment it will bring to our Women, Youths, and the entire Mopamuro Community.
“We also appreciate Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo for his philanthropic gestures in supporting students and youths in Mopamuro for over 5 years now.
“It is on record that the Commissioner has empowered several youths and women in various capacities, also provided educational support for many students at different levels.
“Recently he awarded students with cash price up to the tune of N500,000 for coming 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Titilayo Fanwo Essay Competition.
“Most importantly is the single handed construction of Primary Health Care Centre in Takete-Ide Community of Mopamuro. This will undoubtedly answer to the health insecurity bedeviling the people of Mopamuro for a long time.
“In same vein, we are grateful to Engr. Folorunsho Olafemi for his philanthropic graciousness towards our Widows, Students and Youths over time.
“We specially appreciate him for the massive renovation of Mopa Water Works which have been in moribund for decades. With this, majority of our people who have been suffering from access to portable water, especially during the dry season, will have ease.
“We also appreciate the FOF Team for empowering youths across Yagba Federal Constituency few months ago on different businesses and choice of artisanship.”
The group likewo eulogizes the donation of street Light facilitated by an indigene of the LGA who does not want his name in print, to Efo-Amuro area of Mopamuro Local Government, “We are thankful to this donor for making great effort at placing infrastructure to support the effort of the State, Local Government and Traditional Institutions on stemming insecurity and beautifying Mopamuro, there by making a mark for tourist attraction.
The group therefore appealed to other personalities of Mopamuro who are well to do to replicate the efforts of this few persons to do more for the development of Mopamuro.
“We also appeal to our people to ensure the due maintenance and security of these projects to better the lot of Mopamuro.”End.
